Wonders of Angkor Photography Tour


9-12 March 2017

Explore the ancient temple complexes of Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm, Bayon and more as you get step-by-step guidance on how to photograph these magnificent World Heritage sites.

Develop your creative street photography skills on a visit to Siem Riep’s fascinating Central Market + Night Market and step back in time as we stop off in small villages on an unforgettable sunrise land and water tour to the village communities of  Kompong Khleang, far from the tourist trail.

Enjoy the warmth and friendliness of the Khmer people as your instructor shows you how to approach strangers to take great travel portraits and capture the many facets of daily life in Cambodia.

Who can join?

Any photography enthusiast who loves to travel and wants to explore the sights and an around Siem Reap whilst improving their photography skills and confidence with the camera.   Photographers of all levels are welcome but you’ll get more out of the photography instruction if you already have at least a basic knowledge of the Aperture and Shutter Speed Priority Modes.

What do you need to bring?

  • DSLR camera (or similar) with a range of lenses (or super zoom lens) covering both wide angle and telephoto focal lengths.  Discounted lens hire is available.
  • Laptop or other device for viewing and sorting your photos during the trip
  • A sense of humour and a willingness to explore, learn, make new friends and have fun!

Magical Myanmar Photography Tour

Take a  journey to the past in this beautiful, untouched corner of the world.  Experience the colonial charm of Yangon’s downtown area, share a laugh with the local vendors and be wowed by the city’s iconic Shwedagon Pagoda at sunset.

A short flight takes you to the ancient city of Bagan, where over 2200 temples and pagodas dating back to the 9th to 13th centuries await you.  Experience the unique character and beauty of Bagan’s finest temples and enjoy the beautiful Shwezigon Pagoda festival, attended by thousands of villagers from the whole region. The highlight of this event is the procession of hundreds of monks collecting donations on the full moon day of Thazaungdine.

Capture an unforgettable sunrise from a hot air balloon flight (optional but highly recommended) and venture off the beaten track to explore the local villages, markets and craftsmen.

Before we return to Yangon, enjoy a magical sunset sipping sundowners on the Ayerwaddy river.

Kingdom of Bhutan Photography Tour

Join Karen Lucas for unforgettable photography tour to to Bhutan, the last Himalayan Buddhist Kingdom.

Enjoy the rich and colourful Paro Festival where you’ll be spoiled for choice photographing the dancers in their elaborate costumes, the spectators wearing their finest traditional clothes, and the monks in their beautiful red robes.

Take a scenic hike up to the iconic, cliff-top Tigers Nest temple and marvel at the views.

Visit the ancient Paro Dzong and experience the serenity and spirituality of the deeply-religious Bhutanese people.

Discover fascinating temples, explore colourful bustling markets, visit friendly local villages and take in the majestic views of Mount Merapi on this fun Photography Expedition with Susan Richman.

You’ll visit the famous Borobudur Temple (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) at sunrise and capture the bustling street life of Yogyakarta at sunset.  You’ll sample the famous Javanese coffee and see local craftsmen at work.

And, as you explore and photograph each new scene, your experienced instructor will be on hand  to give you tips on lighting, lens choice, technical settings and creativity.
